The original Hermes Eau Des Merveilles is one of my signature scents and all time favorite fragrances. I’ve never strayed from the original but am on the precipice of blind buying Elixir Des Merveilles. Perhaps not as creative as the rest but I think it's the most feminine and easy to wear. Nothing complicated, really. L’Ambre de Merveilles is like one of these gorgeous Hermès mousseline shawls. Impossibly soft and see-through, but still warming and substantial. Compared to such a luxurious scarf, L’Ambre de Merveilles has the added bonus of being a right bargain. Although I sure wouldn’t mind having both. The excruciatingly weird mix of chocolate and mossy greens that's the hallmark of the Merveilles line is toned down here, and actually works quite well adding background complexity to the creamy, buttery incense and iso e super amber that's the star of the show.
