I bought an early 80s YG Day Date this week. Beautiful watch, but wondered about other experiences/knowledge on patina, specifically on the case and bracelet and dial. The silver dial looks almost like a light champagne, I figure this is normal for older silver dial Rolex watches but was curious.

All Rolex Day-Date models come only in solid 18k gold (yellow, white, and rose gold), and 950 platinum. Rolex crown and indices are made of gold, and should therefore NEVER corrode. Gold may tarnish, but not to that extent.

I was just wondering if this is normal for vintage yellow gold day-dates? What are the typical causes & how / would it be possible to get rid of the tarnish? Thanks!
