I wish I was aware of it beforehand so I could have stocked up on a few .It seems after reformulating Fahrenheit proper to be back in a form closer to the original release, house perfumer François Demachy took notes and kept in mind a proper place for this experimentation, and Fahrenheit Le Parfum is that place. Sometimes the reformulations is more successful than the original. Sometimes it hurts longevity or sillage. But none of that matters because there isn't a thing anyone can do about it.
I come back home and after researching on it for a bit, it seems the general consensus is that the current reformulation is the closest it's ever been to the vintage Fahrenheit (pre-2005 and older). The latest happened around late 2014/early 2015, so I'm guessing you ended up with the latest reformulation with your newer bottle.
I'd tried the original Fahrenheit before, but that was some years back before all the reformulation. All I can say is that I prefer the current EDT to Le Parfum, which really is an exercise in futility, and it costs more too!
Obviously reformulations occurred in a such complex scent, during a 25-years span. So, in this review, we collected our Fahrenheit bottles and did a comparative work. How did Fahrenheit change during the years? In 2009, the very decent Fahrenheit Absolute was released, which can be seen as an attempt to modernize and update the original, and in 2014 came Fahrenheit Le Parfum – dark, spicy, balsamic, and viscous, with cumin, licorice, and myrrh. The iconic Fahrenheit silhouette gets a modern upgrade in Le Parfum, with this edition looking like a smaller “chubby” boy compared to the sleek design of the Eau de Toilette. This mesmerizing effect transitions from a deep, inky black at the top to a fiery crimson in the middle, culminating in a vibrant, sunny yellow at the base.
