The watch is surprisingly light. The one thing you need to be aware of with titanium is that it will pick up scratches more easily than stainless steel. I picked up my first Panerai a week ago and I must say this is a fascinating brand! It is a PAM 352 as I wanted to get one with a bracelet. I also considered the PAM 328 but the tobacco dial, gold hands and titanium look & feel just sang to me!

I like the all-polished case and arabics of the 359, the Ti and tobacco and gold hands of the 351, and the clean lines of the 312. If I really had to choose, 351, but ask me in two days, and I'll probably have changed my mind. The 359 may not, however, be the right PAM for you. In many ways, it is NOT a typical Panerai. It differs to most Luminor 1950. It has a polished case, whereas the 312, 321, 351, etc. all have brushed cases. The obvious difference is the 11-numeral dial whereas most PAM have 3 or 4 cardinal numerals with “sticks” marking 5, 10, etc. I like to show you a comparision of Panerai 351 Rep vs. Gen. I am looking to purchase a 2016 351 but have heard the movement can be noisy? Can anyone who has this ref confirm or refute? If it is noisy, can this be addressed by Panerai? I tried the 312, 351, and 359 at the same time and I went with 359. I have other vintage looking pieces and thought the 359 looked very nice and different. The dial is very different from the other ones and still very much Panerai. I've owned both the 312 and 351 and found both 'nice'. Of the two my clear preference was the 351 as it has so much going for it. The Ti case is easier every day than the heavier 312.
